I’m a deeply-sourced digital journalist with a decade of experience reporting on national breaking news, politics, social justice and foreign affairs with speed, accuracy, sensitivity and empathy.
About
I am currently a senior reporter on the breaking desk for HuffPost, proudly based in my native city of Chicago after a brief stint in Washington, D.C. Before that, I worked at The Associated Press helping turn local news from central U.S. into wires that reach a national audience.
As a Midwestern woman of color, I always strive to critique institutional power while ensuring those most impacted — particularly people with marginalized identities — can trust me with their stories and are represented fairly in my reporting.
Just like we hold the powerful’s feet to the fire, I believe journalists must work tirelessly to also keep themselves accountable to the public — especially with changes to the news landscape and transfers of power over media. I advocate for a free and independent press, both in and out of the newsroom.
